I like it...... A recent graduate from RCA MA Menswear who I enjoyed helping out being a little hip hop super hero model for her for the day, I'm gay but so pulling it off.
Astrid has some great references obviously to the 80s, music and sports imagery and she really mixes luxury and sport in a clever way. I got to wear mink teamed with jersey and felt whilst feeling like I could launch my new East Coast hip hop single after wearing these garms for the day!
I don't need to tell you but just realise this is one chicken you should be looking forward to see as a menswear designer from the new gen in London.
The jacket in this shot was used in i-D by Simon Foxton and is out this issue go buy it. The clothes are so original and effortlessly cool, colourful and takes so many flamboyancies that often come through in Black and Asian mens styles which I love, "so camp yet such a man" always" and the model well what can I say, cute... and if you're a stylist like a lot of us in this cith then you should get one of these in your portfolio...
River Island has been nurturing young graduate MA talent for the past 6 years and sponsoring Graduate Fashion Week which is an amazing touch of corporate responsibility and is putting something back from the brand to the kids, they need us!
